Heston Materials appoints Petras Akstinas as chief financial officer

Aviation aftermarket specialist Heston Materials has appointed Petras Akstinas as its new CFO, reinforcing the company’s leadership team as it pursues global expansion across the aviation aftermarket sector.

Akstinas brings nearly three decades of finance leadership experience, including senior positions within the aviation industry. His background spans strategic financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, investment management, funding, risk oversight, and regulatory compliance, capabilities that are increasingly important as aviation aftermarket businesses scale internationally.

Before joining Heston Materials, Akstinas served as Head of the Finance Department at Lithuanian Airports, the country’s primary aviation infrastructure operator. His experience in both aviation operations and corporate finance is expected to support Heston Materials’ long-term growth strategy.

The appointment comes at a time when the global aviation aftermarket continues to experience strong demand driven by fleet expansion, aging aircraft, supply chain challenges, and increasing requirements for component support and material availability.

Commenting on his new role, Akstinas said his focus will be on strengthening financial governance, supporting long-term strategic planning, and enabling sustainable business growth as the company continues to expand its global footprint.

Kęstutis Volungevičius, CEO of Heston Materials, noted that Akstinas’ aviation industry expertise and financial leadership will play a key role in strengthening the company’s market position and supporting future expansion initiatives.

The appointment reflects a broader trend across the aviation aftermarket and MRO sectors, where companies are investing in experienced leadership teams to navigate an increasingly complex business environment. Rising aircraft utilisation, evolving supply chain requirements, and growing demand for material support services are placing greater emphasis on financial discipline and scalable growth strategies.

For Heston Materials, the addition of Akstinas is expected to support its ambition of becoming a leading global provider of aviation aftermarket services while enhancing its ability to pursue new partnerships, investments, and market opportunities.
