HeliEFB selects Lido Sky Data for high-quality navigational data, enhancing flight planning for critical missions like emergency services.
Lufthansa Systems announced that HeliEFB, a German and US-based company, has signed a contract to use Lido Sky Data. This collaboration enhances their Flight Planning offer. This marks a significant milestone for Lufthansa Systems as the company expands its Lido suite beyond the airline industry. By entering the helicopter segment, Lufthansa Systems is broadening its reach. The company previously utilized Lido FMS primarily in helicopter simulators.
Markus Siebert, CEO, HeliEFB, said, “We have decided to work with Lufthansa Systems and use Lido Sky Data because of the high quality of the data. This will enhance the flight planning offering in our solution. Our customers, like Helicopter Emergency Medical Services, need the best data they can get to execute their missions and save lives.”
Lido Sky Data provides navigational data for various systems and applications, aiding in the automation of complex manual processes. This support is crucial in areas like flight planning. The data includes globally standardized navigation information such as airports, heliports, runways, waypoints, and navaids. It also covers airspaces, airways, and terminal area procedures.
The data is regularly updated according to the AIRAC cycle. It complies with ARINC 424 and other industry standards like RTCA DO-200 and DO-201. Lufthansa Systems’ data has been extensively used in the aviation industry for over 20 years.
