Heart Aerospace Advances Hybrid-Electric Aircraft Development with LA Expansion.
Heart Aerospace attracts global investments, with North America as a key market for its hybrid-electric aircraft.

Heart Aerospace expands to LA, focusing on hybrid-electric aircraft advancements and plans to showcase a novel propulsion system.

The R&D hub based in Los Angeles will concentrate on advancing Heart’s hybrid-electric propulsion system and other critical technologies. The company plans to move its full-scale aircraft demonstrator to the United States, aiming to showcase proof of concept for a novel hybrid propulsion system.

Benjamin Stabler has been appointed Heart Aerospace as Chief Technology Officer to oversee the US R&D. He will assemble a team for the US R&D hub, fostering close collaboration with the organization headquartered in Gothenburg.

Anders Forslund, Co-founder and CEO of Heart Aerospace, said Los Angeles was the obvious choice for the company’s R&D hub considering its rich history of innovation, “The establishment of our US R&D hub signifies our commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation in aviation. We are working on a solution we call independent hybrid propulsion, and we aim to demonstrate electric flight during next year. We have an exciting time ahead of us as we enter a new phase of hardware testing, and I’m thrilled that Ben is joining our team. His experience and passion for innovation is just what Heart needs to advance on our mission to decarbonize and democratize air travel”

With its roots in the Nordics, Heart Aerospace has attracted investments from around the globe, with a particular focus on North America as its key market. While the establishment of the US R&D hub marks a significant achievement, Heart Aerospace remains headquartered in Europe, where it plans to pursue type certification by 2028.
