Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has announced that the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has certified the Gulfstream G600 for a steep approach to land, expanding access to more airports around the world. The G600 demonstrated its steep-approach capabilities through low-speed handling and short-field landings at some of the world’s most challenging airports, such as London City Airport in England and Lugano Airport in Switzerland. These airports have specific requirements for steep-approach operations due to their short runways and geographical location.

The G600 is known for its class-leading fuel efficiency and exceptional performance. It can travel 6,600 nautical miles/12,223 kilometers at Mach 0.85 or 5,600 nm/10,371 km at Mach 0.90. The interior of the G600 — which received an award for its design — accommodates up to four living areas. It provides exceptional comfort with features such as abundant natural light from 14 Gulfstream Panoramic Oval Windows, 100 percent fresh air, whisper-quiet sound levels, and a low cabin altitude that enhances the Gulfstream Cabin Experience.

“This certification further increases global access for the G600,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. “Building on the speed and range performance advantages that G600 customers already experience, steep-approach capability broadens possibilities and increases flexibility for travel,” he further added.

Further, the G600 has the Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck onboard—an introduction toward enhanced safety. It features industry-first active control sidesticks and wide-ranging touch-screen technology to keep pilots flying in the most advanced and modern way possible.
