Gulfstream names John Kenan as Senior VP of manufacturing and completions

Gulfstream names John Kenan as Senior VP of manufacturing and completions.
John Kenan became an integrated production team manager at Gulfstream in 2012.

John Kenan in his new position as VP will supervise the tactical and strategic guidance for the manufacture and completion of every new Gulfstream aircraft.

John Kenan has been appointed by Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. to the role of senior vice president of manufacturing and completions, with effect from March 2024. Greg Collett, who has worked for the company for more than 25 years and is retiring in March, will be succeeded by him. 

Kenan was a member of the manufacturing and completions executive team and most recently held the position of vice president of completions for all Gulfstream sites. Kenan’s new position will involve him supervising the tactical and strategic guidance for the manufacture and completion of every new Gulfstream aircraft.

Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream, said, “John has had a tremendous amount of success overseeing many of our aircraft production programs and flight test operations since joining us more than a decade ago. He is a well-respected leader with deep expertise and will be a great addition to our senior leadership team.”

In 2012, Kenan became an integrated production team manager at Gulfstream. Previously, he served as senior manager of the G450/G550 major assembly, director of flight test operations, director of G550/G650 production, and director of G700/G800 production. Georgia Southern University awarded Kenan a bachelor’s degree in business management and a master’s degree in applied engineering.

“Greg’s strong leadership and wealth of manufacturing experience have helped us optimize our manufacturing and completions functions through advancements in process and the introduction of state-of-the-art manufacturing technology,” added Burns. “Greg has been instrumental in helping Gulfstream become the leading manufacturer in business aviation and we are deeply grateful for his many contributions. We wish him all the best for his retirement.”

Collett has had a number of leadership positions in operations since joining Gulfstream in 1998, including managing new product development, manufacturing operations, final phase manufacturing, and beginning phase manufacturing. In 2019, he was appointed senior vice president of manufacturing and completions, bringing him into the senior leadership group of Gulfstream.
