Gulfstream introduces performance upgrades on G700 series jets

Gulfstream introduces performance upgrades on G700 series jets.
The G700's range has been increased to an impressive 7,750 nautical miles (14,353 kilometers) at Mach 0.85 or 6,650 nautical miles (12,316 kilometers) at Mach 0.90.

During its certification flights, the Gulfstream G700 has exhibited improvements in range, speed, and cabin altitude, further enhancing its appeal in the ultra-long-range business jet market.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has announced that its highly-anticipated Gulfstream G700 business jet will offer even greater performance and cabin comfort than initially projected. During its certification flights, the G700 has exhibited improvements in range, speed, and cabin altitude, further enhancing its appeal in the ultra-long-range business jet market. With over 4,100 test hours flown across five flight-test aircraft and two outfitted production-test aircraft, the G700 flight test program is rapidly nearing its completion. Gulfstream’s commitment to delivering a high-performance, ultra-long-range business jet underscores the company’s dedication to providing a superior flying experience for its customers worldwide.

The G700’s range has been increased to an impressive 7,750 nautical miles (14,353 kilometers) at Mach 0.85 or 6,650 nautical miles (12,316 kilometers) at Mach 0.90. These figures represent a significant boost of 250 nautical miles (463 kilometers) at both speeds over the aircraft’s original projections. Moreover, the G700’s maximum operating speed has been elevated to Mach 0.935, surpassing Mach 0.925, making it the fastest aircraft in the Gulfstream fleet.

Inside the cabin, Gulfstream has made further strides in passenger comfort by reducing the lowest cabin altitude in business aviation to 2,840 feet (866 meters) while flying at 41,000 feet (12,497 meters). This improvement contributes to a more pleasant and health-conscious flying experience for passengers.

“We are undertaking one of the most extensive flight test programs as the G700 is the first business aircraft to undergo Federal Aviation Administration certification following the passage of the 2020 Aircraft Certification, Safety, and Accountability Act,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. “As a result, we will be delivering an extremely mature, rigorously tested aircraft that will outperform expectations in speed, range and cabin comfort. Our certification efforts continue to advance, and we look forward to delivering the G700 to customers around the world,” he further added.

Throughout the extensive flight test program, two fully outfitted G700 aircraft have circled the globe, testing the interior and allowing potential customers to experience the industry’s most spacious cabin. The G700’s cabin features remarkable attributes, including whisper-quiet noise levels, 20 Gulfstream Panoramic Oval Windows, and a continuous supply of 100% fresh air. These two aircraft have collectively covered approximately 246,000 nautical miles (455,592 kilometers) and set more than 45 city-pair speed records, demonstrating the G700 program’s maturity.
