Gogo Aviation advances with 1,000+ successful Global OTA updates and future technology integration.

Gogo Business Aviation has recently announced over 1,000 successful AVANCE system software updates globally using its over-the-air (OTA) feature. This method replaces the USB kit approach, which previously required operators to update each aircraft individually, with a remote, hands-free process deployable across all aircraft simultaneously.

Furthermore, the AVANCE platform offers easy upgrade paths to new technologies and networks, such as Gogo Galileo and Gogo 5G. Gogo Galileo is their Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite solution designed for global connectivity.

Sanjeev Nagpal, Senior vice president of product management for Gogo, said,  “OTA addresses the largest problem we’ve heard from our fleet customers: updating aircraft positioned around the world. OTA eliminates this logistical issue and makes access to our most up-to-date and value-add features easier than ever.”

As Gogo prepares for the launch of Gogo Galileo and Gogo 5G, OTA capabilities will expand to include antenna software updates. The OTA feature debuted alongside AVANCE software update v4.4 and has become Gogo’s fastest-adopted software update in its 30-year history. This feature is conveniently accessible through Gogo DASH, an exclusive app-based toolkit for AVANCE customers, and when used with a Gogo Cloudport, it reduces upgrade time by 83 percent.
