flynas signs MoU with Airbus for 75 A320neo and 15 A330-900 Aircraft, enhancing fleet capacity and efficiency. 

flynas, Saudi Arabia’s leading low-cost carrier, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus. This agreement includes 75 A320neo family aircraft and 15 A330-900s. Consequently, it will expand the airline’s capacity and range. Furthermore, it will enhance the overall fleet capabilities.

The MoU was signed during the Farnborough International Airshow. The signing ceremony was attended by H.E. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of Saudi Arabia. Additionally, Ayed Al Jeaid, Chairman of the Board of NAS Holding, was present. Also in attendance were Bandar Almohanna, flynas Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, and Christian Scherer, Airbus Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Aircraft.

The new aircraft will join the carrier’s entirely Airbus fleet, serving international, domestic, and regional routes. Additionally, the A330-900 aircraft will feature a two-class configuration. This configuration will accommodate up to 400 passengers.

To support its ambitious growth plans, flynas will add the A330-900 aircraft to its fleet. This addition is expected to yield significant operational efficiency gains. By combining the new widebody aircraft with its existing A320neo fleet, the airline aims to improve performance. The A330-900 will provide increased capacity and range. Furthermore, it offers unrivalled seat costs, allowing flynas to compete effectively in the expanding regional market, a primary focus for the airline.

The A330neo offers exceptional operating economics, thanks to its latest-generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines. Additionally, it features new wings and aerodynamic innovations. These advancements result in a 25 percent reduction in fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions compared to previous-generation aircraft. The A330neo can fly 8,150 nm / 15,094 km non-stop. Moreover, it provides enhanced passenger comfort with more space, a new lighting system, the latest in-flight entertainment, and full cabin connectivity.

The A330 family, like all Airbus aircraft, can currently operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Furthermore, Airbus aims to make its aircraft capable of using up to 100% SAF by 2030.
