flynas expands Airbus fleet with order for 25 additional A330neo and A321neo

flynas has strengthened its long-standing partnership with Airbus by confirming an order for five additional A330-900 aircraft and 20 additional A321neo aircraft, supporting the airline’s fleet expansion and long-term network growth strategy.

Announced at the Farnborough International Airshow, the latest agreement increases flynas’ total commitment to 20 A330neo aircraft and 56 A321neos, taking its overall firm orderbook with Airbus to 235 aircraft. The expanded fleet is expected to support the airline’s growing domestic, regional and long-haul operations while driving future demand for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), component support and engine services across the Middle East.

flynas currently operates an all-Airbus fleet of 67 aircraft, including two A330-300s, four A320ceos and 61 A320neos. The carrier continues to expand its operations in line with Saudi Arabia’s aviation growth strategy and rising passenger demand.

Bander Almohanna, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of flynas, said the additional aircraft will support the airline’s long-term expansion plans and strengthen operations across its six Saudi bases as well as its growing activities in Syria.

“This step is aimed at ensuring the sustainable growth of the flynas fleet over the coming years while strengthening our operational and expansion capabilities. The additional aircraft will enable us to access new markets, support Saudi Arabia’s position as a global tourism and travel hub, facilitate the Pilgrim Experience Program, and contribute to increasing the Kingdom’s aviation capacity,” he said.

Almohanna added that flynas’ Airbus orderbook now stands at 235 aircraft out of a total commitment of 280 aircraft, positioning the airline to support major tourism developments and international events such as Expo 2030 and the FIFA World Cup 2034.

Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President, Sales, Commercial Aircraft, Airbus, said the latest order reflects the strength of the partnership between the two companies.

“This additional order from flynas highlights the continued appeal of Airbus’ latest-generation aircraft and reflects the strength of our partnership with one of the region’s fastest-growing airlines. The A321neo and A330neo deliver outstanding efficiency, performance and passenger comfort, enabling airlines to grow sustainably while expanding their networks,” he said.

The A321neo offers improved fuel efficiency, extended range and at least a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions compared with previous-generation aircraft, making it well suited for regional and medium-haul operations. The A330neo, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, offers a range of up to 8,100 nautical miles and delivers approximately 25% lower fuel burn, carbon emissions and operating costs than earlier-generation aircraft.

The expanding Airbus fleet is expected to create significant long-term opportunities for the aftermarket sector, including airframe maintenance, engine MRO, component support, spare parts provisioning and digital fleet services as flynas continues to scale its operations in one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets.
