Flair Airlines has signed a 15-year exclusive agreement with Lufthansa Technik covering engine maintenance and digital technical services for its fleet of 18 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft powered by LEAP-1B engines.
The agreement makes Flair the second major customer for Lufthansa Technik Canada’s recently established LEAP-1B engine repair facility in Calgary. Engine maintenance will be carried out primarily in Calgary, with support from Lufthansa Technik’s engine services network in Hamburg, Germany, and Wrocław, Poland.
The contract combines engine maintenance with digital technical operations services. Lufthansa Technik will provide AVIATAR Condition Monitoring, Predictive Health Analytics and the Engineering Analytics Suite, supporting data-based monitoring and maintenance planning.
Flair also uses the eTLB electronic Technical Logbook from AMOS by Swiss AviationSoftware and flydocs for digital records and asset management. Lufthansa Technik said the combination provides data coverage across the technical operations value chain.
“Flair is building a more efficient airline, focused on excellence in execution and long-term growth,” said Len Corrado, CEO of Flair Airlines. “We’re proud to partner with Lufthansa Technik Canada, bringing world-class expertise, technology and new aviation capability here at home. This 15-year partnership strengthens our operation and supply chain resilience, supports skilled aviation expertise in Alberta and helps us continue making air travel more affordable for everyday Canadians.”
“We sincerely appreciate the confidence Flair has placed in Lufthansa Technik, and we are proud to support their continued operational excellence and long-term success,” said Georgios Ouzounidis, Vice President Corporate Sales Americas at Lufthansa Technik. He added, “Flair is the second major customer for our Canadian engine repair station, and we see this as the beginning of a long-term partnership built on trust, performance, and innovation. By combining our industry-leading MRO expertise with digital solutions, we help ensure optimal engine performance, operational reliability, and asset value throughout the lifecycle.”

Lufthansa Technik Canada’s Calgary operation has grown to more than 80 employees since the company announced plans for the facility in February 2025. The company is developing a permanent engine maintenance site at Calgary Airport, including a planned test cell for next-generation aircraft engines.
“Welcoming Flair Airlines as our second customer in Calgary just 18 months after announcing the facility is a strong vote of confidence in the capabilities, global network, and integrated service portfolio of Lufthansa Technik. Meanwhile, our Calgary team has grown to more than 80 employees working in our interim facility. We just started digging for our new repair shop where we will perform more than 100 maintenance events in the upcoming years for Flair Airlines,” said Georg Fanta, Vice President Commercial Engine Services at Lufthansa Technik.

The new agreement builds on the companies’ existing relationship. Lufthansa Technik has provided Total Component Support for Flair’s fleet since 2019, covering its 18 Boeing 737 MAX and two Boeing 737NG aircraft. The companies have also worked together on Cyclean Engine Wash and Mobile Engine Services for LEAP-1B and CFM56-7B engines.
The Calgary site will continue operating from an interim facility while the permanent engine maintenance facility is developed. It will also support Lufthansa Technik’s Mobile Engine Services network by providing LEAP-1B support for customers in the Americas.
