Finnair names new Chief Digital Officer and General Counsel

Finnair is changing two positions on its Executive Board, with Arti Zeighami becoming Chief Digital Officer on August 19, 2026, and Kaarina Ståhlberg taking over as Senior Vice President and General Counsel on August 31.

Zeighami joins Finnair from Boston Consulting Group, where he was a Partner and Director and worked on AI scaling. He previously served as Chief Data & Analytics Officer at H&M Group. He will replace Antti Kleemola, who will leave Finnair after supporting the transition through September.

Ståhlberg joins from a legal and corporate governance background. She has held senior legal positions at Nokia, Posti Group and Fortum and currently serves on the boards of several Finnish listed companies. She replaces Sami Sarelius, who will leave Finnair and continue as an executive adviser until the end of 2026.

Finnair CEO Turkka Kuusisto said, “I would like to warmly thank Sami for his long and distinguished career at Finnair and for supporting the company’s business through very different phases. I also thank Antti for his strong contribution to the development of modern sales channels, in which Finnair is a global pioneer. I wish both Sami and Antti the best of success also in future.”

Kuusisto added, “I warmly welcome Arti and Kaarina to Finnair. Arti brings exceptional expertise in the rapid digitalisation of consumer business, and Kaarina has extensive experience in consumer business in a changing environment. Both are highly important as we systematically execute Finnair’s strategy for profitable growth in a global market environment.”
