FEAM Aero, the largest provider of aircraft line maintenance services in the United States, and its subsidiary, Northern Aerotech (NAT), have announced the acquisition of SR Technics’ aircraft line maintenance business at Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) in Madrid. The acquisition, which is part of NAT’s aggressive growth plan, will establish its presence in one of Europe’s largest airports. The opening of the MAD location is scheduled for June 1st and will serve as a competence center for wide-bodied aircraft, supporting line maintenance scheduled activities and AOG (Aircraft on Ground) recovery for various aircraft models.

NAT, known for its specialization in aircraft line maintenance and AOG support, will leverage the Madrid location to expand its presence in the Spanish market. The company has already received requests for the addition of Barcelona (BCN) and approval from the local competent authority (AESA) to operate in all airports in Spain. The establishment of the new business entity at MAD opens up future opportunities for NAT and FEAM Aero in neighboring European countries, where FEAM can provide access to hangar facilities.

Morten Schalls Jørgensen, CEO, Northern Aerotech said. “We consider SR Technics a world-class MRO, so to be able to follow their success at the MAD location was very attractive to us. “We look forward to growing the NAT brand at MAD by offering superior line maintenance services to our current and future customer airline partners.”
