Eurowings implements AVIATAR eTLB for fleet efficiency
The integration with AMOS, the maintenance and engineering software used by Eurowings Technik, ensures near real-time communication between cockpit crew and maintenance teams, providing immediate updates on each aircraft’s technical status.

Eurowings Technik enhances efficiency and sustainability with AVIATAR’s Electronic Technical Logbook integration.

Eurowings Technik, part of the Lufthansa Group, has successfully implemented the AVIATAR Electronic Technical Logbook (eTLB) across its entire fleet of Eurowings’ flight operations. This milestone eliminates traditional paper-based cockpit processes, such as manual documentation of pre-flight checks and technical defect reports, which previously caused delays in data entry across systems. The integration with AMOS, the maintenance and engineering software used by Eurowings Technik, ensures near real-time communication between cockpit crew and maintenance teams, providing immediate updates on each aircraft’s technical status.

Matthias Gruber, Vice President Technical Fleet Management Eurowings and Managing Director Eurowings Technik, said, “The eTLB is a milestone in the digitalization of our processes in the cockpit and in maintenance. Not only does it enable us to make flight operations more efficient, but the replacement of paper processes also represents a decisive step towards greater sustainability. We look forward to continuing to work with the AVIATAR team to shape an innovative, efficient and sustainable future together.”

Eurowings and AVIATAR have cultivated a longstanding partnership focused on advancing digital solutions for stable flight operations. As one of the pioneering partners of Lufthansa Technik’s digital platform, Eurowings collaborates with AVIATAR to enhance fleet monitoring through Condition Monitoring, implement Predictive Health Analytics for maintenance forecasting, and utilize the Engineering Analytics Suite for efficient fleet management. The introduction of the eTLB marks another significant milestone in this productive collaboration, further streamlining operational processes and ensuring reliability in aviation services.

Frank Martens, Senior Director Sales AVIATAR and Digital Products at Lufthansa Technik, said, “To meet the expectations of our partners and customers as well as our own ambitious goals, here at AVIATAR we are constantly striving to develop the best digital solutions on the market together with our partners. We look forward to continuing to drive digital transformation in aviation together with Eurowings to maximize efficiency in technical operations.”

The AVIATAR Technical Logbook provides prefilled text blocks and automated input masks to capture aircraft technical issues efficiently during flight and on the ground. This replaces manual entries into paper books, enhancing data quality and transparency. Pilots can access the system via any hardware device, ensuring flexibility and continuous access to aircraft status, with backup processes available for connectivity challenges. Real-time integration with the Maintenance and Engineering (M&E) system facilitates immediate maintenance actions upon arrival, fostering seamless collaboration between pilots and maintenance teams. This integration leads to reduced turnaround times and operational costs, while standardized data structures support airlines in gaining valuable trend analytics insights.
