EPCOR B.V., the Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) center of excellence for Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) repairs, components, asset management, and predictive maintenance services, has signed a new long-term agreement with Air Canada to support the airline’s fleet of GTCP131-9A APUs.
The agreement marks a significant expansion of the long-standing partnership between the two companies, adding support for a new APU platform widely used on the Airbus A320 family aircraft. Air Canada is set to become one of EPCOR’s key customers for the GTCP131-9A platform, reinforcing collaboration as the carrier advances its fleet modernization strategy and introduces new Airbus A321XLR aircraft into service.
Under the agreement, EPCOR will provide comprehensive maintenance and support services for Air Canada’s GTCP131-9A APUs, helping ensure operational reliability and efficiency across the airline’s Airbus narrowbody fleet.
Heidi Haveman, Managing Director of EPCOR, said the agreement reflects the strong foundation of trust and technical expertise built between the two organizations. She noted that EPCOR remains committed to supporting Air Canada’s expanding and modernizing fleet with reliable, high-quality APU services over the long term.
Rob van de Graaf, Commercial Director at EPCOR, described the deal as a meaningful milestone, highlighting that it represents the second long-term agreement between the companies. He emphasized that the partnership has been built on transparency, shared objectives, and a mutual commitment to long-term success.
Josh Vanderveen, Vice President of Maintenance at Air Canada, said the airline is pleased to extend a partnership that spans more than a decade. He added that the new agreement supports Air Canada’s focus on reliability and operational excellence across its Airbus A320 fleet while helping maintain high service standards for passengers.
The agreement underscores the strategic importance of the GTCP131-9A APU platform in supporting Air Canada’s operational performance and sustainability objectives. EPCOR’s technical capabilities and customer-focused approach are expected to play a key role as the airline continues expanding its international network and modernizing its fleet.
