Embraer takes full ownership of EZ Air, expands cabin manufacturing operations in Mexico and Brazil

Embraer has completed the acquisition of the remaining 50% stake in EZ Air Interior Limited, thereby taking full ownership of the Mexico-based cabin interiors manufacturer and integrating selected Safran Cabin operations in Brazil to strengthen its production capabilities.

The transaction marks the conclusion of Embraer’s long-standing joint venture with Safran Cabin, originally established in 2012 between Embraer and C&D Aerospace (now Safran Cabin). Based in Chihuahua, Mexico, EZ Air has exclusively supported Embraer’s commercial aircraft programs by manufacturing key cabin interior components, including luggage bins, galleys, lavatories and floor panels for the E-Jets family.

As part of the agreement, Embraer will also integrate a portion of Safran Cabin’s operations in Jacareí, Brazil, dedicated to the aircraft manufacturer’s programs. Engineering services in Brazil that are unrelated to Embraer projects will continue to operate under Safran Cabin.

Francisco Gomes Neto, President and CEO of Embraer, said the acquisition aligns with the company’s long-term growth strategy and reinforces its commitment to creating value for stakeholders.

“Embraer is continuously evaluating opportunities to create value for its stakeholders, and this agreement supports our strategy to expand operations in both the short and long term,” Gomes Neto said. “I would like to thank Safran Cabin for this successful long-term partnership and warmly welcome the new colleagues joining Embraer. Together, we will continue to deliver excellence driven by safety, quality, efficiency and sustainability.”

The acquisition was finalized after receiving the required regulatory approvals and satisfying customary closing conditions.

By bringing EZ Air fully under its ownership and expanding its manufacturing footprint in Brazil, Embraer aims to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen control over its cabin-interior supply chain, and support the continued production of its E-Jets family.
