Embraer extends heavy maintenance agreement with SkyWest Airlines for 271 E175

Embraer and SkyWest Airlines have extended their long-term heavy maintenance agreement, reinforcing a partnership that supports the world’s largest fleet of Embraer E175 aircraft.

The renewed contract covers SkyWest’s fleet of 271 E175 jets operating in the United States and expands the scope of the previous agreement by increasing maintenance capacity to support the airline’s long-term fleet planning and operational requirements.

Under the agreement, heavy maintenance activities will be carried out at Embraer Services & Support’s MRO facilities in Nashville (Tennessee), Macon (Georgia), and Fort Worth (Texas).

Joe Sigg, Vice President of Maintenance at SkyWest Airlines, said the agreement is critical to maintaining the airline’s high standards of fleet reliability and performance. “This heavy maintenance agreement is essential to keeping our E175 fleet operating at the highest levels of reliability and performance. As the world’s largest owner and operator of E175 aircraft, this partnership will help us continue delivering the operational excellence and dependability that SkyWest is known for,” he said.

Carlos Naufel, President and CEO of Embraer Services & Support, said the renewed contract further strengthens the long-standing relationship between the two companies. “SkyWest is a long-standing customer and strategic partner for Embraer. This agreement reinforces our commitment to delivering OEM-led MRO solutions that improve fleet reliability, enhance operational efficiency and support our customers’ long-term growth through our expanding maintenance network across the United States,” Naufel said.

The agreement also aligns with Embraer’s ongoing investment in expanding its MRO footprint in North America. The company is investing approximately US$70 million in a new commercial aviation MRO facility at Perot Field Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas, which is expected to begin operations in 2027.

Once completed, the new facility will increase Embraer‘s E-Jet maintenance capacity in the United States by more than 50%, helping meet the growing demand for heavy maintenance services from E-Jet operators across North America. The expansion complements Embraer’s existing operations at Perot Field Alliance Airport, where maintenance services have been offered since June 2025.
