Embraer and aircraft lessor Azorra have signed an agreement covering up to 30 Embraer E190F passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversions, marking Azorra’s entry into the dedicated freighter leasing market.
The agreement includes 20 firm orders and purchase rights for an additional 10 aircraft. It follows the Embraer E190F’s entry into commercial service earlier this year, as demand continues to grow for right-sized cargo aircraft in the express freight sector.
Developed from Embraer‘s E-Jets platform, the E190F is designed to bridge the gap between large turboprop freighters and converted narrowbody aircraft. The aircraft offers more than 100 cubic metres of cargo volume and a payload capacity of up to 13.5 tonnes, making it well suited for regional and medium-haul cargo operations.
According to Embraer, the E190F delivers approximately 30% lower operating costs than older narrowbody freighters while offering comparable range and cargo capacity. The aircraft also provides lower noise levels and reduced emissions, supporting operators’ sustainability goals.
The agreement further strengthens the partnership between Embraer and Azorra, following the lessor’s recent order for additional Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.
Azorra plans to place the E190F with cargo operators in high-growth markets, including Latin America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa
