EFW elevating global Airworthiness with EASA CAMO approval

EFW elevating global Airworthiness with EASA CAMO approval
Aircraft owners and operators will benefit from faster, cost-effective services for registration, lease transitions, and operational support, boosting convenience and uptime.

This prestigious certification enables EFW to provide comprehensive airworthiness management and technical services for passenger and freighter aircraft on a global scale.

Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW), a renowned joint venture between ST Engineering and Airbus, has achieved a significant milestone by securing the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) approval from the Federal Aviation Office of Germany. This prestigious certification enables EFW to provide comprehensive airworthiness management and technical services for passenger and freighter aircraft on a global scale, enhancing its role as a leading player in the aviation industry.

A New Era for Aircraft Management
With this EASA CAMO approval, EFW is now authorized to offer a full spectrum of airworthiness management services, extending to aircraft lessors, owners, and operators worldwide. This approval underscores EFW’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of aircraft safety and compliance, leveraging decades of expertise in aircraft conversion and maintenance. EFW’s deep technical know-how in aircraft systems, structures, and regulatory requirements is a testament to its extensive experience in converting passenger aircraft to freighters (P2F).

Enhanced Airworthiness Services
The CAMO approval allows EFW to assume overall responsibility for maintaining aircraft airworthiness. This includes streamlined airworthiness review processes for import, export, and re-registration of both passenger and freighter aircraft. Aircraft owners and operators will benefit from expedited and cost-effective services, including aircraft registration for lease transitions and operational support, ultimately enhancing convenience and maximizing operational uptime.

Integrated Solutions Under One Roof
EFW’s CAMO approval complements its existing suite of aviation services. The company stands out as the only freighter conversion provider globally to hold the CAMO approval alongside three other key aviation technical certifications. Part 145 Approval, Design Organisation Approval, and Production Organisation Approval, this unique combination positions EFW to deliver turnkey solutions encompassing design development, freighter conversion, maintenance, and supply chain management, all within a single integrated framework.

Airworthiness Review Privileges
In addition to the CAMO approval, EFW has received Airworthiness Review privileges specifically for Airbus widebody and single-aisle aircraft. This additional certification allows EFW to conduct airworthiness reviews, issue Airworthiness Review Certificates, and support ‘permit to fly’ issuance for maintenance and repositioning flights. For P2F conversion customers, this means a significant advantage: aircraft can swiftly return to revenue service with a valid airworthiness certification post-conversion, minimizing downtime and enhancing operational efficiency.
