Company to provide line maintenance support for Riyadh Air’s Kuala Lumpur ops
Dviation Technics will provide line maintenance provider for Riyadh Air at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), supporting the Saudi Arabian carrier as it launched its inaugural service to Kuala Lumpur, its first destination in the Asia-Pacific region.
The inaugural flight, operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner powered by GE Aerospace GEnx engines, arrived in Kuala Lumpur on July 31, marking the start of Riyadh Air’s three-times-weekly service between Riyadh and Kuala Lumpur.
Under the agreement, Dviation Technics will provide comprehensive line maintenance services at KLIA, ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of Riyadh Air’s Boeing 787-9 fleet during its turnaround activities in Malaysia.
Riyadh Air, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), is a key component of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 strategy to establish Saudi Arabia as a global aviation hub. The airline plans to connect Riyadh with more than 100 destinations worldwide while delivering a premium passenger experience supported by advanced operational capabilities.
Commenting on the partnership, Kevin Teoh, Group Managing Director, Dviation Group, said the appointment represents another significant milestone in the company’s expansion across the Asia-Pacific region. “We are honoured to support Riyadh Air as it launches operations into Kuala Lumpur, a pivotal milestone for both the airline and the region. Being selected to provide line maintenance support for one of the world’s most ambitious new full-service carriers underscores the strong confidence international airlines place in our technical capabilities, operational reliability and uncompromised commitment to safety,” said Teoh.
He added that Riyadh Air’s entry into Malaysia strengthens air connectivity between Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and expressed confidence in building a long-term strategic partnership as the airline expands its international network.
The contract further strengthens Dviation Technics‘ position as one of the Asia-Pacific region’s leading independent line maintenance providers. The company holds approvals from multiple international aviation authorities and provides maintenance support for a broad range of aircraft, including the Airbus A330, Airbus A350, Boeing 747-400 Freighter, Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner, in addition to next-generation narrow-body aircraft.

The agreement highlights the increasingly important role of specialised independent line maintenance providers in supporting the rapid international expansion of new-generation airlines. As carriers such as Riyadh Air accelerate network growth under ambitious fleet expansion plans, dependable third-party maintenance partners are becoming essential for ensuring operational reliability across overseas stations.
For Dviation Technics, securing Riyadh Air as a customer enhances its presence in the Middle East–Asia aviation corridor while reinforcing Kuala Lumpur’s growing importance as a strategic line maintenance hub. The partnership also reflects the rising demand for technically capable MRO providers that can support modern wide-body fleets, particularly the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, as airlines continue expanding long-haul operations across Asia-Pacific.
