Duncan Aviation recently completed a hangar renovation that allows supplementary paint capacity and more paint schedule for Battle Creek, Michigan.
The new hangar which is up to 12,000-square-foot, will accommodate aircraft sized up to a Bombardier Global Express. The hangar now has a computer-driven sidedraft airflow system that triple-filters the air and will allow aircraft to be stripped, painted, primed and striped in that hangar. It also has new, adjustable and energy-efficient LED lighting.
The renovation was managed by Tectonic Management Group with Duncan Aviation’s Battle Creek Facilities team coordinating between Tectonic, the BTL Paint Department and contractors.
“The new hangar is a great addition to our paint services in Battle Creek,” says Doug Bohac, duncan aviation paint manager. “Customers will see some additional paint capacity and more flexible scheduling.”
Duncan Aviation has the capacity of painting up to 100 aircraft per year at each of its Battle Creek and Lincoln, Nebraska, locations. Both locations have downdraft paint facilities large enough to paint some of the largest business aircraft in use today, including Gulfstream’s 550, Bombardier’s Global Express and Dassault’s Falcon 7X. The facilities are designed with mutiple bays that allow stripping, sanding, painting and detail work on multiple aircraft concurrently.
