Airbus passed the duty to Diehl Aviation to develop and produce the new overhead bins, Airspace XL Bins which provide upgraded space for passengers, for Airbus A220.

Prime supplier, Diehl Aviation has been given the responsibility by Airbus, a leading aircraft manufacturer, to upgrade and enhance new overhead bins for Airbus A220 aircraft which would have 20% more stowage capacity than the older overhead bins of the aircraft, in turn, providing more space for passengers to store their belongings.

The new overhead XL Bins have a storage capacity better than any other overhead carrier while being cost-effective, with a reliable flap design that is easy to maintain. These overhead XL Bins are weight-optimized accompanying air-conditioning ducts.

“Responding to customer needs, the new Airspace XL Bins for the A220 will give passengers more stowage space and overall make the A220 cabin even more attractive. The order is particularly important for us because this is the first time that we have been represented with our solutions on the A220. We are very excited to be working with the Airbus A220 team.” said Harald Mehring, Chief Customer Officer of Diehl Aviation.
