Diehl Aviation has expanded its European manufacturing footprint with the inauguration of a new production facility in Craiova, Romania, strengthening its capabilities to support commercial aircraft programmes and future production growth.
The new facility, located within Craiova Business Park, spans 12,000 square metres on a 33,500-square-metre site and includes approximately 2,500 square metres of Class A+ office space. Developed following a double-digit million-euro investment, the plant will manufacture aircraft components for commercial aviation customers.
Operations have commenced with a workforce of 75 employees, with plans to expand to approximately 500 jobs over the medium term as production capacity increases.
Diehl Aviation has also secured an option to further expand the facility in line with future market demand and business requirements.

The project forms part of Diehl Aviation‘s strategy to strengthen its manufacturing network while supporting growing demand from the global aerospace industry. The Craiova facility is expected to play an important role in supplying components for commercial aircraft programmes, enhancing production flexibility and reinforcing the company’s European supply chain.
The facility was developed by Romanian real estate company Global Vision within its Craiova Business Park, an industrial hub strategically located with direct access to the E79 national road. Development of the project was supported by financing from Banca Comercială Română (BCR).
As aircraft production rates continue to recover, investments in advanced manufacturing facilities such as the Craiova plant are expected to strengthen supply chain resilience while supporting the aerospace industry’s long-term growth.
