Diehl Aviation and Skyways Technics Partner in Nyírbátor for Advanced Radome Maintenance Using Specialized Autoclaves
Diehl Aviation and Skyways Technics HU Kft. recently signed an agreement at Diehl Aviation Hungary in Nyírbátor. The two companies will collaborate on the maintenance of aircraft structural components, with Diehl Aviation’s autoclaves playing a central role in the process. Skyways Technics Hungarian facility specializes in the maintenance, repair, and supply of aircraft parts, including the repair of radomes. These radomes, which are sensitive components, are subject to specific stresses from environmental factors such as hail or bird strikes. While such damage usually does not impact the aircraft’s operability, it frequently requires regular maintenance.
Radomes, composed of nearly 30 layers of laminated prepreg material in a honeycomb structure, require special autoclave ovens for hardening. Diehl will give Skyways Technics access to its two autoclaves in Nyírbátor and provide the necessary expertise.
