Delta to retrofit more aircraft with Gogo Wi-Fi

Delta Air Lines has expanded its agreement with in-flight connectivity specialist Gogo for 2Ku Wi-Fi technology on an additional 350 aircraft.

The Atlanta-based carrier said that once the Wi-Fi is installed, the total number of jets covered by Gogo will exceed 600 aircraft. 2Ku installations have already started on Delta’s 737-800 and A319 fleets, and additional aircraft types are due to be retrofitted with the new system.

By the end of 2016, Delta will operate more than 35 aircraft equipped with 2Ku.

Jon Cobin, Gogo’s executive vice-president, global airline business group, said: “We know how important it is to Delta to bring this technology to passengers and we plan on getting it deployed on these aircraft as soon as possible.”
