Dassault Falcon Jet has inaugurated a 40,000-sq-ft MRO facility at the Catarina Executive International Airport, Brazil named Dassault Falcon Jet São Paulo-Catarina designed to service even Dassault’s largest jets, including the Falcon 10X.

Dassault Falcon Jet, a subsidiary of Dassault Aviation, has inaugurated a new MRO at the Catarina Executive International Airport near São Paulo, Brazil. This new state-of-the-art complex, called Dassault Falcon Jet São Paulo-Catarina, supersedes the company’s previous facility in Sorocaba, operational since 2009. The 40,000-sq-ft complex provides ample office space and the capability to accommodate up to five Falcon jets simultaneously. It is designed to service even Dassault’s largest jets, including the Falcon 10X—an ultra-long range, extra-widebody model currently under development.

Dassault Falcon Jet São Paulo-Catarina is fully equipped to perform up to ‘B’ level maintenance checks for Brazilian-registered aircraft in the Falcon 7X/8X and Falcon 2000 families. It also offers Pre-Purchase Evaluations for potential buyers of pre-owned Falcon aircraft, which are comprehensive assessments crucial for making informed purchasing decisions.

The facility has a wide range of certifications which include Brazil’s Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC), the FAA, and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). It also holds accreditations from the airworthiness authorities of Argentina, Bermuda, and Uruguay. Its authorization extends to line maintenance and major inspections across a range of models, including Falcon 50, 900, 2000 series, Falcon 7X, and Falcon 8X.

In addition to airframe inspections and services, the São Paulo-Catarina facility can perform engine line maintenance for a number of engines, including the CFE-738, Honeywell TFE731, and Pratt & Whitney Canada PW307A, PW307D, and PW308C. The facility is also qualified to perform specialized NDT such as penetrant and eddy current testing. A full-service battery shop rounds out the facility’s capabilities, able to repair, replace, or recharge main and emergency batteries for the Falcon fleet as well as other aircraft.

“For our company, after-market support is a truly vital part of the ownership experience,” said Jean Kayanakis, SVP for worldwide customer service, Dassault Falcon Jet. “This means keeping Dassault as close as possible to its customers and offering all the services needed to maximize the up-time and value of their Falcon fleet,” he further added.

Much like its predecessor in Sorocaba, the new facility will continue to host a 24/7 AOG ‘Go Team’. This team is specially trained to respond rapidly by traveling by vehicle to anywhere in South America with the parts and tools necessary to get Falcon aircraft back in the air as soon as possible.Catarina Executive International Airport, at a short distance from São Paulo, is the first exclusive international airport for business aviation in Brazil. The runway is 8,100 feet long and has instrument approach capabilities to and from the airport, bettering accessibility and flexibility in business jet operations.

It is part of Dassault’s general reinforcement of its global support network, which amounts to more than 60 service locations and 15 parts distribution centers in the world. Recent additions include major new MRO centers at Dubai World Central Airport and in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, both operating under the ExecuJet MRO brand.
