Cyclean Engine Wash: Expanded Presence in Asia

Since 1 December, 2015, Lufthansa Technik, in collaboration with the MRO service provider HAECO, has been operating the first Cyclean Engine Wash Service Station in Hong Kong. Two airline customers have already been acquired for the on-site engine cleaning service: Cathay Pacific and Dragonair. Lufthansa Technik already offers it’s Cyclean Engine Wash in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific region.

All common engine models can be washed at the Cyclean Engine Wash Station Hong Kong. An engine wash can be carried out as part of maintenance work, in the transit period between two flights, or overnight. Lufthansa Technik and HAECO can now offer the Cyclean Engine Wash service to all international customers at the Hong Kong site. The autonomous system, which does not require any external electricity or water source, gives airline customers even more flexibility in the planning of engine washes.

“With this cooperation with HAECO in Hong Kong we are further expanding our Cyclean Engine Wash presence in the Asia-Pacific region. The high demand for efficient engine cleaning means that the number of stations will keep growing. We currently serve more than 40 airlines worldwide,” says Oliver C. Winter, Head of Engine Life Cycle Services at Lufthansa Technik.

“Cyclean Engine Wash not only shortens an engine wash turnaround time by 70 percent but also allows it to be carried out anywhere at the airport without a wash-bay restriction. HAECO Line Services currently serves over 60 airlines and 300 transit flights at Hong Kong International Airport. We believe that there is a great opportunity for Cyclean to be a valuable engine wash solution for our customer base here. It shows HAECO Group’s long term commitment to invest in environmental-friendly technologies and high-efficiency equipment,” says Raymond Leung, Vice President Commercial, Line Services, HAECO Hong Kong.
