Collins Aerospace wins 15-year On-Site Support agreement for China Southern Airlines fleet.
Collins has been serving in China for 40 years and has an employee pool of more than 900 people at 10 facilities across the country.

Collins Aerospace, with this contract, will extend its onsite inventory management services to most of China Southern Airlines’ Integrated Drive Generator and generator capabilities.

Collins Aerospace, one of the world’s largest suppliers of aerospace products, has announced a contract extension of the company’s currently ongoing 10-year On-Site Support agreement (OSS) for China Southern Airlines (CSN) commercial aircraft fleet to 15 years. The extension of the agreement will add support for Collins Aerospace’s Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) and other generators for multiple CSN aircraft including the Boeing 787, Airbus A320neo and ARJ21. Collins Aerospace, with this contract, will extend its onsite inventory management services to most of CSN’s IDG and generator capabilities.

The On-Site Support agreement will cover support for Collins’ Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) and other electric power generators for CSN’s fleet of most aircraft which also includes the multiple regional, single aisle and widebody aircraft. Collins’ IDG provides primary electric power for the aircraft electrical system by converting variable engine input speed to a constant output speed. This enables the generator portion of the IDG to produce alternating current at a constant frequency.

“This agreement will provide CSN with continued support for its fleet, and guarantee stocks and parts availability. This will help reduce turnaround time and improve operational efficiency,” said Mike Yue, regional director, customer & account management, Collins Aerospace. “We are looking forward to strengthening our support and relationship with CSN to meet their future requirements,” he further added.

With the latest extension of the agreement, Collins Aerospace’s global aftermarket supply chain team will provide onsite inventory management, offer predictive parts forecasting, manage the availability and distribution of parts, and provide 24/7 technical support for all of China Southern Airlines’ IDG and generator capabilities.
