Collins Aerospace unveils expansion of Spokane facility
This expansion is a strategic move designed to bolster production capabilities and address the growing demands in both the commercial aviation and military sectors.

Collins Aerospace will add 70,000 ft² to the facility expansion, increasing its footprint by 50% to enhance production capacity.

Collins Aerospace has marked a significant milestone with the groundbreaking of an expansion project at its Spokane carbon brake production facility. The initiative aims to enhance the site’s manufacturing capacity by adding 70,000 square feet, including up to three new buildings and additional furnaces, thereby increasing the facility’s operational footprint by 50 percent.

Denny Heck, Lieutenant Governor, Washington, said, “Collins Aerospace is a key part of the critically important aerospace supply chain in Washington state, and we are proud to have them in Spokane, This expansion adds high-quality jobs and reinforces Washington’s leadership in advanced manufacturing and aerospace technologies.”

This expansion is a strategic move designed to bolster production capabilities and address the growing demands in commercial aviation and military sectors. The project is projected to generate approximately 80 new jobs, underscoring Collins Aerospace’s commitment to strengthening the regional workforce in alignment with industry needs.

The Spokane facility, one of three dedicated sites within Collins Aerospace specializing in carbon brake production, will further enhance its capacity to produce braking systems utilizing DURACARB carbon disk technology. This strategic expansion will be crucial in supporting future aerospace industry demands and solidifying Collins Aerospace’s leadership in advanced technical innovation.
