Collins Aerospace expands its operations in Lenexa, Kansas with opening of new facility

The new site is the Interior Products center of excellence
The facility is double the size of previous facility with room for further expansion.

The 279,000-square-foot facility is the U.S. center of excellence for Collins’ Interior Products portfolio – supporting galley inserts, oxygen systems and lighting product lines.

11 November 2021:  Collins Aerospace celebrates the opening of new Interiors facility in Lenexa, Kansas. Collins had a long presence in Lenexa, operating out of another location since the 1960s. To strengthen the growth of Collins Interior Product portfolio and aftermarket service and support organization the new facility has a major focus on engineering, new product development, unique manufacturing process and a robust maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services. The new state-of-the-art building more than doubles the square footage of the previous facility with room for future expansion.

Brad Haselhorst, vice president and general manager of Interior Product, Collins Aerospace said “This new facility is an investment in Collins, our customers and the Lenexa community we’ve called home for more than half century.” He further added “We’ve been fortunate to be able to tap into the talented and diverse workforce in the Lenexa and greater Kansas City area and look forward to the continued growth of workforce here as we strive to better support our customer”.

There are more than 60 Jobs available at the site – with positions ranging from repair station technicians, to engineering, supply chain and manufacturing/assembly- with plans for future facility expansion and additional availability as business need arise. Production labor employees are eligible for $1500 sign on bonus and all employees are eligible for Collins Aerospace Employee Scholar Program, which offers free paid tuition and three hour study time per week for continuing education at college and universities. The new Lenexa site also includes office space an expanded laboratory space, a large manufacturing floor and loading docks for more efficient distribution.
