Clay Lacy Aviation’s latest Fixed-Based Operation and hangar complex at Waterbury-Oxford Airport is nearing completion, set to open in the summer of 2024. with the state-of-the-art facility, spanning 120,000 square feet of new hangars.

Following a mild Northeast winter, construction has entered its final phase. The superstructure and concrete pours for all three hangars are complete. The FBO building’s construction continues, with the framed-in glass lobby serving as a visible progress marker. The taxiway to access Connecticut’s longest business aviation runway is finished, and the remaining ramp and parking facilities are expected to be completed soon.

Clay Lacy Aviation’s latest Fixed-Based Operation (FBO) and hangar complex at Waterbury-Oxford Airport (KOXC) is nearing completion and is set to open in the summer of 2024. The state-of-the-art facility, spanning 120,000 square feet of new hangars, is designed to meet the growing demand for hangar space in the New York and greater Northeast regions, while offering the benefits of basing aircraft in Connecticut.

“The facility still has room to accommodate more super-mid, large-cabin, and ultra-long range jets,” said David “Buddy” Blackburn, Chief Business Officer for FBOs, Clay Lacy. “Corporate flight departments with two or more aircraft can be hangared together, a feature that is considerably rare in the tight Tri-State market. We are nearly complete with the infrastructureWhile it is easy to see the physical aspects of this ambitious project nearing completion, there has been just as much activity behind the scenes customizing build-to-suit office spaces, organizing fueling and operational equipment, and building out our team to provide legendary service to our customers, he further added.

Maria Garceau has been appointed as the FBO General Manager for the new facility. Garceau, who joined Clay Lacy in March, brings over 20 years of FBO experience, including previous General Manager roles overseeing customer experience, line service, training, and operations at Connecticut-based aviation facilities.

The facilities include solar panel provisions, electric vehicle (EV) charging, electric aircraft charging, efficient building design, and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
