Cebu Pacific on April 17 received its fourth Airbus A320neo aircraft delivery for 2024 at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila after a flight from Airbus’ facility in Tianjin, China.

Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ leading airline, marked a significant milestone on April 17 with the arrival of its fourth aircraft delivery for 2024. The new addition is a new Airbus A320neo, underscoring the group’s commitment to sustainable aviation practices and operational resilience. An A320neo from Airbus arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila after a flight from Airbus’ facility in Tianjin, China.

SAF, being a drop-in fuel with characteristics similar to traditional jet fuels, will require no changes in aircraft or engines and has no adverse effect on performance. Its use reduces carbon emissions by up to 80 percent throughout its lifecycle, and its use is, in fact, one of the decarbonization measures taken by Cebu Pacific.

“This aircraft delivery supports our goal of providing safe, reliable, and affordable flights as the demand for air travel remains strong. We also continue to incorporate sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in our operations as part of our decarbonization efforts, which can pave the way for a more sustainable air travel in the coming years,” said Alex Reyes,  Chief Strategy Officer, CEB.

SAF being a drop-in fuel, it requires no modifications to aircraft or engines and has no impact on the performance of aircraft. In the future, SAF will help reduce carbon emissions by up to 80 percent. Cebu Pacific boasts one of the world’s youngest fleets. There are eight Airbus 330s, 34 Airbus 320s, 21 Airbus 321s, and 14 ATR turboprop aircraft, which enable the airline to provide extensive network coverage across the Philippines. The company plans to go fully all NEO from 2028.

Airbus NEOs are the new generation of aircraft; their fuel consumption is 15 percent less per flight compared to previous models, wherein emissions from carbon fuels are reduced.
