Cargolux has signed a contract with Lufthansa Technik AG focusing on expanding business between the two companies. Based on the contract, Lufthansa Technik’s Airframe Related Component (ARC®) unit will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul of the thrust reversers on the Cargolux fleet of Boeing 747-8 aircraft. The all-cargo airline based in Luxembourg presently operates 14 Boeing 747-8 freighter aircraft, in addition to a fleet of twelve 747-400 freighters.
Lufthansa Technik will provide support in case of non-scheduled events and worldwide on-site assistance, complementing a planned reverser overhaul programme which includes preventive maintenance. An adequate pool of spares will be established and maintained, enabling Cargolux to make use of spare thrust reversers under a loan and/or exchange program if required.
