China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited has announced the delivery of the first of three Airbus A320CEO jets powered by IAE V2527-A5 engines to South African Airways (SAA) as the carrier marks its 90th year of operations.

China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (CALC), a comprehensive aircraft solutions provider for the global aviation industry, is excited to announce the successful delivery of the first of three Airbus A320CEO aircraft to South African Airways (SAA) as the carrier marks its 90th year of operations. The A320CEO, manufactured in 2016 and powered by IAE V2527-A5 engines, was previously part of Pacific Airlines’ fleet in Vietnam before being swiftly redelivered to SAA.

“Given the current global aircraft supply chain constraints, we celebrate this achievement of a successful business relationship with CALC as we execute SAA’s fleet plan that is aimed at a profitable business model,” said Prof. John Lamola, Interim Chief Executive Officer, South African Airways.

This delivery marks CALC’s commitment to expanding its footprint in Africa and highlights its global business approach, particularly in the southern hemisphere. CALC remains dedicated to maximizing asset value throughout the aircraft’s lifecycle and ensuring smooth transitions for used aircraft, leveraging its adaptability and extensive global network.

“We are thrilled to bolster SAA’s fleet growth by offering young A320CEO aircraft leases,” said Winnie Liu, President and Chief Commercial Officer, CALC. “Congratulations on SAA’s 90th anniversary of service this year and we anticipate further solidifying our relationship, aiming to extend our solutions to more African airlines in the coming years.”
