CAE has inked a pilot training contract with Global Crossing Airlines for the deployment of an Airbus A320 family Level D full-flight simulator in Miami, Florida anticipated to be operational by the first quarter of 2024. 

CAE, a global leader in aviation training solutions, has inked a long-term exclusive pilot training agreement with Global Crossing Airlines (GlobalX) to deploy and operate an Airbus A320 family full-flight simulator (FFS) in Miami, Florida. The Level D FFS is anticipated to be operational by the first quarter of 2024, catering to GlobalX’s expanding fleet and the growth of its Airbus A321 freighter operations. 

GlobalX, operating as a FAR Part 121 domestic flag and supplemental airline, specializes in flying the Airbus A320 family aircraft. The airline serves various markets, including the US, Caribbean, Europe, and Latin America, offering passenger ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) and charter services. In 2023, GlobalX expanded into ACMI cargo service with the introduction of the A321 freighter.

CAE, a prominent provider of flight simulators and training devices, supplies its simulation solutions to airlines, aircraft manufacturers, and training centers globally. The company’s simulator portfolio includes basic training devices like CAE 400XR and CAE 500XR, along with full-motion products such as the CAE 3000, CAE 5000, and CAE 7000XR. These simulators are utilized for commercial training purposes.

Additionally, CAE licenses its simulation software to various market segments and offers professional services. The company’s acquisition of BAE Systems’ Flight Simulation and Training division in 2001 and the purchase of the Military Training businesses of L3Harris Technologies in 2021 have contributed to its strong presence in the training and simulation industry.
