With the new Boeing 737-8 fleet, Cabo Verde Airlines will reconnect the Cape Verdean diaspora and boost tourism for the island nation from Africa, Europe, North America, and South America.

Boeing and Cabo Verde Airlines celebrated a significant milestone with the delivery of the airline’s first fuel-efficient 737 MAX jet. The special event, held at the airline’s home base, included officials and employees, and it marked a crucial step in the airline’s rebranding strategy, known as “take-off.” With the addition of the Boeing 737-8 to its fleet, Cabo Verde Airlines aims to reconnect the Cape Verdean diaspora and boost tourism for the island nation from Africa, Europe, North America, and South America.

 “This is a significant moment for Cabo Verde Airlines. With the addition of the Boeing 737-8, we continue to expand our fleet to pre-pandemic levels,” said Sara Pires, CEO and president, Cabo Verde Airlines. “The delivery of an airplane with the capabilities of the 737-8 allows us to meet the growing travel demand to our archipelago country at the crossroads of four continents,” she further added.

The 737 MAX family of airplanes offers several benefits, including enhanced efficiency, improved environmental performance, and increased passenger comfort. Equipped with CFM International LEAP-1B engines and advanced technology winglets, the 737 MAX reduces fuel consumption and emissions by 20% compared to older aircraft models, making it a more environmentally friendly choice for airlines.
