BOC Aviation has signed a lease agreement with Taiwan-based STARLUX Airlines for eight new Airbus A321neo aircraft, further expanding its partnership with the fast-growing international carrier.
The aircraft will come from BOC Aviation’s orderbook and are scheduled for delivery beginning in 2028. Each aircraft will be powered by CFM International LEAP-1A engines, offering improved fuel efficiency and operational performance for regional operations.
Paul Kent, CCO of BOC Aviation, said the agreement marks an important milestone in supporting STARLUX’s fleet expansion plans.
“We are delighted to be supporting Taiwan’s newest international airline with this landmark transaction for eight of the latest technology aircraft,” said Kent. “The A321neos that will be delivered to STARLUX from 2028 are amongst the most fuel-efficient aircraft in production and should demonstrate their versatility in supporting the airline’s regional network growth.”
The latest agreement reflects BOC Aviation’s continued focus on placing next-generation aircraft with airlines seeking to modernise their fleets while improving efficiency and sustainability.
The announcement follows BOC Aviation’s recent purchase-and-leaseback transaction involving three Airbus A350-1000 aircraft with Qatar Airways. Those aircraft have already been delivered to the airline under long-term operating leases and are powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines.
With the STARLUX agreement, BOC Aviation continues to strengthen its portfolio of long-term lease placements for advanced, fuel-efficient aircraft as demand for modern narrowbody fleets remains strong across the Asia-Pacific region.
