BOC Aviation fleet reaches 811 aircraft and engines as H1 2026 deliveries rise

BOC Aviation reported a strong first-half performance for 2026, posting a net profit after tax of US$357 million, up 4% year on year, as continued fleet expansion and high aircraft utilisation reinforced demand across the global leasing market.

Excluding non-recurring items, the aircraft lessor said the result marked another record first-half performance, with total revenues and other income increasing 4% to US$1.3 billion compared with the same period last year.

“Our leasing, trading and financing activities all recorded significant improvements in the first half of 2026,” said Steven Townend, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. “These improved earnings, along with our strong balance sheet, enabled us to increase the first half dividend by 22% compared with the same period last year.”

BOC Aviation reported US$1.297 billion in total revenue and other income, up 4% from US$1.242 billion in the first half of 2025. Net profit after tax increased 4% to US$357 million from US$342 million.

By the end of June, BOC Aviation’s portfolio had expanded to 811 aircraft and engines owned, managed and on order, with an average owned fleet age of five years and a weighted average remaining lease term of 7.7 years based on net book value.

The lessor’s orderbook stood at 320 aircraft, with deliveries extending through 2032, providing long-term visibility for fleet expansion and future placement opportunities.

During the first half of 2026, BOC Aviation took delivery of 24 new aircraft and one engine, completed the sale of eight owned and five managed aircraft, and signed 33 lease commitments, reflecting continued activity in both fleet renewal and aircraft placement.

Its owned and managed fleet served 88 airlines across 45 countries and regions, while operational performance remained strong. The company maintained 100% utilisation across its owned aircraft portfolio and achieved a 99.2% cash collection rate from airline customers.

BOC Aviation’s continued investment in young-generation aircraft points to sustained demand for transition services, lease-return management, engine maintenance planning and component support as deliveries accelerate and aircraft move between operators. With a substantial delivery pipeline extending into the next decade, lessors are expected to remain key drivers of maintenance activity throughout the aircraft lifecycle.
