BOC Aviation Limited has strengthened its long-standing partnership with Qatar Airways by signing a purchase-and-leaseback agreement for three Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, further expanding its widebody aircraft portfolio.
Under the agreement, BOC Aviation will purchase and lease back the three Airbus A350-1000 aircraft to Qatar Airways under long-term operating leases. All three aircraft have already been delivered to the airline and are powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines.
The transaction marks BOC Aviation’s first financing of the Airbus A350-1000 for Qatar Airways, reinforcing the lessor’s commitment to supporting one of its largest airline customers with modern, fuel-efficient aircraft.
Steven Townend, CEO and MD of BOC Aviation, said the agreement reflects the strength of the companies’ long-standing relationship and the lessor’s strategic focus on deploying capital into high-quality transactions.
“We are pleased to be financing our first A350-1000 aircraft for Qatar and continuing a partnership that has been built over many years and continues to thrive across all market conditions,” said Townend. “We deliberately strengthened our liquidity position earlier this year with transactions of this quality in mind, and we are delighted to deploy that capacity in support of one of our largest and most valued customers.”
The latest agreement underscores continued demand for advanced widebody aircraft financing as airlines invest in fleet modernization and long-haul network growth.
