AirJapan is set to deploy Bluebox’s onboard retail and in-flight entertainment (IFE) modules i.e. Blueview across its widebody fleet, showcasing the adaptability of the Blueview platform.

Bluebox, a leading provider of digital passenger services, has announced a dynamic application of its Blueview platform for AirJapan, a new airline brand under ANA HOLDINGS INC. AirJapan is set to deploy Bluebox’s onboard retail and in-flight entertainment (IFE) modules across its widebody fleet, showcasing the adaptability of the Blueview platform. AirJapan, slated to commence operations in February 2024, aims to serve medium-haul markets in Asia and provide passengers with a unique and thoughtful flying experience. Bluebox’s innovative solutions align well with AirJapan’s “Fly Thoughtful” concept, offering passengers convenient onboard services that enhance their journey.

The Blueview onboard retail solution empowers passengers to utilize their personal devices for ordering items from AirJapan’s food and beverage menu as well as its retail catalogue. Leveraging the Bluebox Wow portable wireless system, Blueview also facilitates an immersive IFE experience. Passengers can seamlessly stream content tailored to the markets served by AirJapan directly onto their own devices.

Blueview, a recipient of the 2023 PAX Tech Readership Award for Technology, offers a comprehensive software platform encompassing a browser-based portal for passengers to access a range of digital services onboard. This includes features like onboard retail and in-flight entertainment, all supported by secure content delivery, third-party app integration, content management, and analytics. Blueview presents an integrated ecosystem that enables airlines to engage and entertain passengers while generating ancillary revenue.
