Biman Bangladesh Airlines has placed a firm order for 10 Airbus aircraft, comprising four A350-900 widebody aircraft and six A321neo narrowbodies, as the airline advances its fleet modernisation and international expansion plans.
The agreement will introduce both Airbus aircraft types to Biman’s future fleet, adding capacity at its Dhaka hub. The A350-900s are expected to support the airline’s long-haul network expansion, including planned services to North America and additional European destinations.
The six A321neos will provide Biman with new-generation narrowbody capacity for regional and medium-haul operations, including routes connecting Bangladesh with markets across the Middle East.

The Airbus order follows Biman’s recent agreement with Boeing for five 787-10 Dreamliners and six 737-8 aircraft. Combined, the two orders represent 21 firm aircraft commitments across four narrowbody and widebody types, marking a significant step in the carrier’s fleet renewal strategy.
Biman said the additional aircraft will help meet rising international travel demand from Bangladesh, supported by the country’s large overseas population and growing trade and economic links.
The airline has not disclosed engine selections, delivery timelines or financial terms for the Airbus order.
