Avion Express Brasil has appointed Fernando Amaral as interim CEO following the departure of Esteban Jauregui Lorda, who led the airline through its establishment and launch phase.
Amaral, who previously served as Chief Technical Officer, takes over as the airline prepares for its next stage of growth. The company said Jauregui Lora stepped down after overseeing several key milestones, including securing the airline’s Brazilian Air Operator Certificate (AOC), launching commercial operations with its first aircraft and completing the International Air Transport Association’s Operational Safety Audit (IOSA). The airline said IOSA accreditation is pending.
“We are grateful to Esteban for his leadership and commitment during one of the most important stages in Avion Express Brasil’s development,” Suklys said, adding that establishing a new airline required vision, resilience and dedication.
Jauregui Lorda described the opportunity to build a new airline in Brazil as one of the most rewarding experiences of his career. He said the company had achieved major milestones, including obtaining its Brazilian AOC, launching commercial operations, completing the IOSA audit and creating a strong foundation for future growth.
Suklys said Brazil remains a strategic market for Avion Express and an important part of the company’s long-term growth plans. He added that the airline would continue strengthening cooperation between its European and Brazilian Air Operator Certificates to better support airline partners in both markets.

According to Suklys, the completion of the IOSA audit and the expected accreditation will position Avion Express Brasil to expand its aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI) services. He said the airline will continue focusing on safe and reliable operations while helping airline partners respond to seasonal demand.
The company said it has established a strong local team and plans to continue expanding its business in Brazil in line with market needs.
