Avincis orders up to 15 Airbus H145 helicopters to expand emergency and offshore operations across Europe

Avincis, Europe’s largest provider of emergency aerial services, has signed an agreement with Airbus Helicopters for the acquisition of up to 15 H145 helicopters, further strengthening its fleet and operational capabilities across key European markets.

The new helicopters will be deployed across Avincis’ network in the Nordic countries, Italy, and Spain, supporting Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) as well as specialized missions such as offshore transportation.

John Boag, CEO of Avincis Group, said the H145’s reliability and performance make it the ideal platform for the company’s mission-critical operations. He noted that the fleet expansion will ensure Avincis crews have access to advanced technology to continue delivering high-quality emergency medical and offshore transport services while supporting the company’s long-term fleet modernization strategy.

Airbus Helicopters CEO Matthieu Louvot welcomed the continued partnership, highlighting the H145’s versatility across multiple mission profiles. He said the aircraft can seamlessly transition between life-saving emergency medical missions and demanding offshore energy transport operations, providing operators with a reliable and efficient solution for complex environments.

Avincis operates more than 220 aircraft worldwide and employs over 2,400 professionals, including pilots, aircrew, and maintenance technicians. The company maintains bases across Spain, Portugal, Italy, Norway, Sweden, and Finland, while also conducting operations in Mozambique and Chile.

The Airbus H145 remains one of the most widely used light twin-engine helicopters globally, with more than 1,800 aircraft in service and over 8.5 million flight hours accumulated. Powered by twin Safran Arriel 2E engines, the helicopter features full authority digital engine control (FADEC), the Helionix digital avionics suite, and a four-axis autopilot system designed to enhance safety and reduce pilot workload. The H145 is also recognized for having one of the lowest acoustic footprints and CO₂ emission levels in its class.
