With this latest addition, Air Corsica now operates a fleet of seven ATR 72-600 aircraft with PW127XT engines.

This delivery finalizes Air Corsica’s transition from the ATR -500 series to the latest ATR 72-600 model.

ATR has delivered 1,700th aircraft since the program’s inception to longstanding customer Air Corsica.  This delivery finalizes Air Corsica’s transition from the ATR -500 series to the latest ATR 72-600 model, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to operational efficiency, regional connectivity, and sustainability, says ATR’s official release.

The delivery highlights the enduring success and reliability of the ATR aircraft program, which remains a key player in regional aviation. As Nathalie Tarnaud Laude, ATR’s CEO emphasizes that the ‘delivery highlights our joint commitment to setting the standard for regional connectivity’.

Air Corsica received its first ATR 72-600 with the new PW127XT engine in November 2022. The PW127XT engine offers a 20% reduction in maintenance costs and a minimum of 3% improvement in fuel efficiency compared to the PW127M, alongside a 45% reduction in CO2 emissions relative to similar-sized regional jets.

Nathalie Tarnaud Laude, ATR’s Chief Executive Officer, emphasized, “Delivering our 1,700th aircraft to Air Corsica marks a major milestone in our partnership and highlights our joint commitment to setting the standard for regional connectivity. This achievement also underscores ATR’s resilience, unmatched adequacy for the regional market, and capacity to provide highly-efficient, versatile aircraft that empower airlines to thrive in the dynamic regional aviation sector.”

With this latest addition, Air Corsica now operates a fleet of seven ATR 72-600 aircraft with PW127XT engines. These aircraft enhance operational reliability, passenger comfort, and cost-efficiency for the airline’s routes from Corsica’s four airports while advancing its environmental sustainability goals and high-quality service standards.

Marie-Hélène Casanova-Servas, President of Air Corsica’s Supervisory Board, said, “Completing our fleet renewal with the ATR 72-600 is a pivotal moment for Air Corsica, reflecting our commitment to providing the best possible service to our passengers and supporting the economic vitality of our island. This latest-generation aircraft enhances our operational efficiency and significantly reduces our environmental impact, aligning perfectly with our vision of a more sustainable future for air travel in Corsica. By investing in this modern fleet, we are ensuring that our island remains well-connected, fostering growth and opportunity for our communities.”
