28 May 2021: Astronics Corporation has launched an anti-microbial aircraft in-seat power Outlet Units called EmPower which is developed under its ongoing Product Innovation Program. These units will be produced and available as anti-microbial products using the latest technology to create an Anti-Microbial formulation. This includes the EmPower system 110VAC, Type A USB, Type C USB and all combination Outlet Units. It is expected that all EmPower system Outlet Units will be produced with this new Anti-Microbial formulation by early 2022.

Astronics Anti-Microbial Outlet Units have been tested to ISO22196 – Test for Antimicrobial Activity of Plastics. Testing to this industry recognized standard ensures Astronics products are effective against microbials.
