Archer and Signature Aviation collaborate to electrify Aviation Terminals, launching Air Taxi services by 2025.
Archer Aviation Inc. and Signature Aviation signed an MOU to electrify Signature’s network of 200+ private aviation terminals by end of 2025. This partnership will enable Archer’s air taxi services at Newark International (EWR) and Chicago O’Hare (ORD). This collaboration will grant Archer access to takeoff and landing sites in major U.S. cities, including New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco Bay Area. Additionally, it extends globally to key locations. The MOU outlines plans to install BETA’s UL-Certified CCSrapid charging systems across Signature’s terminals. These systems are endorsed by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA). Moreover, they enhance the charging capabilities for various electric airport vehicles.
The two companies plan to leverage their existing partnerships with BETA Technologies to install BETA’s interoperable rapid recharging systems across Signature’s network of private aviation terminals. These systems utilize the Combined Charging System (CCS), allowing the charging of electric aircraft, cars, airplane tugs, and buses. Additionally, they support other airport vehicles. Moreover, the interoperable rapid recharging system, recently endorsed by GAMA, has been installed at over 20 airports nationwide. Additionally, 50 new sites are under development. The two companies plan to electrify initial launch locations as early as 2025. Further expansion will occur across Signature Aviation’s global network as Archer’s aircraft availability increases. This will establish a leading electric aviation infrastructure experience, offering premium services to Signature’s guests.

Archer aims to transform urban travel by replacing 60–90-minute car commutes with 10–20-minute electric air taxi flights. These flights will be safe, sustainable, low-noise, and cost-competitive with ground transportation. Moreover, they aim to enhance urban mobility effectively. Archer’s Midnight is a piloted, four-passenger aircraft designed for rapid back-to-back flights. It requires minimal charge time between flights, enhancing efficiency.
