ANA Holdings has approved an order for eight additional Embraer E190-E2 regional jets as it continues to strengthen its domestic network and expand capacity through its Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (ACMI) agreement for ANA flights.
The decision, announced following a Board of Directors meeting on July 29, builds on ANA Holdings’ earlier commitment made in February 2025, when the airline ordered 20 E190-E2 aircraft, including 15 firm orders and five purchase options. With the latest purchase, the carrier is increasing its investment in Embraer’s next-generation regional aircraft to support future growth.
The new aircraft will primarily be deployed to expand the ACMI operation, enabling ANA to better align capacity with passenger demand across its domestic route network while maintaining operational flexibility.
“This additional E190-E2 order accelerates our efforts to build a sustainable regional aviation network in Japan,” said Koji Shibata, President and CEO of ANA Holdings. He added, “We are excited to deepen our partnership, elevating regional connectivity and delivering a superior passenger experience across Japan.”
The Embraer E190-E2 is a 100-seat regional jet powered by Pratt & Whitney geared turbofan engines and incorporates advanced aerodynamic technologies that deliver lower fuel consumption, reduced emissions, and significantly lower noise levels than previous-generation regional aircraft. These efficiency gains are expected to help ANA reduce operating costs while supporting its long-term sustainability objectives.

By adding more E190-E2 aircraft to its fleet, ANA aims to enhance connectivity between regional cities, improve network flexibility and strengthen the resilience of its domestic operations.
The additional order also reinforces ANA Holdings’ partnership with Embraer as the airline continues its fleet modernisation strategy with more fuel-efficient aircraft capable of meeting evolving market demand. The investment forms part of ANA’s broader plan to build a sustainable regional aviation network while offering reliable and efficient services across Japan’s domestic market.
