AMAC Aerospace has carried out pre-purchase inspections (PPIs) on several Bombardier business jets at its Basel facility in Switzerland.
The inspections provide technical assessments of aircraft condition, maintenance records, and airworthiness before an aircraft transaction. The process can also identify maintenance requirements that may need to be addressed before or after a sale.
Among the aircraft recently inspected was a Bombardier Global Express XRS, which underwent a Level 1 PPI along with maintenance work and a registry change.
A Bombardier Global 6500 also received a Level 1 PPI at the Basel facility, while a new customer brought a Bombardier Challenger 350 for a Level 3 PPI.
Pre-purchase inspections form part of the technical services supporting aircraft transactions. The work involves reviewing available maintenance documentation, assessing the aircraft’s technical condition and checking its airworthiness status.
The findings from a PPI can provide buyers and sellers with a clearer assessment of an aircraft’s condition and identify outstanding maintenance or technical issues that may affect the transaction.
The combination of inspection and maintenance activity also allows an aircraft to undergo required technical work during the transaction process, potentially reducing additional downtime after ownership changes.

AMAC Aerospace provides maintenance, engineering, and CAMO services from its Basel operation, alongside its other aviation support activities. The company also provides AOG support and aircraft maintenance at its facilities in Europe and Turkey.
The recent inspections highlight the role of MRO providers in the business aviation transaction process, where technical records, airworthiness status, and physical aircraft condition are important factors in determining an aircraft’s value and maintenance requirements.
