AMAC Aerospace Turkey has completed heavy maintenance on two Dassault Falcon aircraft at its Istanbul facility, including a C check on a Falcon 2000 and a 12-month inspection on a Falcon 2000LXS. Both aircraft were redelivered in July following the maintenance inputs.
The privately owned Dassault Falcon 2000 underwent a C check that included 12-, 24-, and 36-month inspections, along with 1B, 1C, and 2C checks.
As part of the maintenance, the aircraft’s landing gear and flight control components were sent to the shop for overhaul, while the head-up guidance computer was sent for repair.
The inspection also identified corrosion on the engine inlet skins. AMAC Aerospace carried out a blend-out to remove the corrosion before applying protective treatment.
A hydraulic leak was found beneath the Hydraulic System 1 reservoir, resulting in replacement of the shut-off valves. Technicians also addressed water leaks around the aft vanity by retightening loose pipes.
Additional findings included disconnected door lift cables, which were reconnected to their original configuration. The maintenance input also included replacement of the GPS antenna, ramp light, fire extinguisher, automatic direction finder (ADF) antenna, and brake unit assembly.
The second aircraft, a Dassault Falcon 2000LXS, underwent a 12-month inspection covering annual inspection tasks, a basic inspection, and several out-of-phase tasks.
One of the aircraft’s engines underwent inspection and troubleshooting following an engine surge. The APU actuator modulating diffuser vane was found to be faulty and replaced, while eroded ceramic components in the engine igniters were also replaced.
AMAC Aerospace also replaced missing lightning protection strips and sent the main wheels to the shop for tire replacement and servicing.
The maintenance team updated the aircraft’s databases to the latest cycles and replaced the engine diagnostic unit (EDU), with its data subsequently mirrored.
The customer requested reduced downtime because of scheduled flights. AMAC Aerospace completed the additional maintenance requirements while meeting the requested turnaround through additional working hours.
