India’s national carrier’s maintenance technicians, who are on fixed-term contract, have taken steps to picket on January 17 over outstanding issues including employment contract re-establishment and wage revision.
The jobs managed by the aircraft maintenance technicians are aircraft fueling and preparing for departure, marshalling and maintenance.
The technicians are around 50% of the Air India Engineering Service Ltd (AIESL), the subsidiary of Air India.
