Airbus’s A321-251N received Type certication from EASA

On March 1, Airbus A321-251N received Type Certificate from EASA. The certificate was handed over by Large Transport Aeroplanes Project Certification manager Giuseppe Scannapieco to Airbus senior vice president A320 Family Programme, Klaus Roewe and Airbus A320 Family Programme chief engineer, Pierre-Henri Brousse at Madrid, Spain. Apart from this, it also received the FAA validation on the same day. The FAA Type Certificate was handed over on behalf of Jeff Duven, manager of the Transport Airplane Directorate.

The A321-251N is the fourth member of the new Airbus Single Aisle family known as NEO (New Engine Option) which will continue to grow until 2018 with further models. The Type Certificate marks the achievement of a thorough certification program intended to make sure that the aircraft meets the safety standards set for Europe by the European Aviation Safety Agency. The new model is now cleared for its first deliveries and ready to start operation in Europe and other parts of the world in the next months.
